CarboChar Technology

The pyrolysis technology called CarboChar is the result of many years of research and development in different countries around the world.

Today in its final version, the CarboChar industrial process offers a very innovative pyrolysis solution with complete gas recycling which makes this process particularly ecological.

This technology has been developped to produce the best quality of Biochar with the less consumption of energy possible. Once the process is started, the CarboChar is not only self-sufficient in energy but produces an important surplus of avalaible heat (for drying, heating or electrical cogeneration). To summarize the key points, the CarboChar is:

Innovative and efficient

-Technology recycling all pyrolysis gases

-Wide range of plant materials biomass that can be processed

-Very high Biochar production yield

-Extensive operating time, over 8000 hours/year

Adaptable and practical

-Pyrolysis reactor operating at temperature range up to 650°C

-Precise setting of the pyrolysis temperature and the residence time of the biomass, making it possible to obtain a very high quality Biochar

-Automation, ease of use and maintenance

Ecological and sustainable

-Poor energy losses

-Very good thermal insulation of the process improving performance

-Absence of greenhouse gas emissions

-Very low power consumption

-Quality materials, refractory stainless steel

-Durability of the process (operation planned over 10 years) then extendable

-Low operating and maintenance costs

-Made in France

Three industrials models for pyrolysis are proposed by LifeChar :

CarboChar-1 :

This model has a maximum biochar production capacity equal to 40 kg / h, for an electricity consumption of 10 kW and an oil consumption of 5 to 7 liters for preheating (depending on the ambient temperature). This model can be manufactured on a platform to facilitate its mobility from one site to another. The minimum location for an implantation of this model is 3 m in width, 5 m in length and 2.5 m in height.

CarboChar-2 :

This model has a maximum biochar production capacity equal to 120 kg / h, for an electricity consumption of 15 kW and an oil consumption of 20 liters for preheating (depending on the ambient temperature). The minimum location for an implantation of this model is 5 m in width, 10 m in length and 4 m in height.

CarboChar-3 :

The maximum biochar production capacity of this process is 200 kg / h, for an electricity consumption of 20 kW and a fuel consumption for preheating equal to 35 liters (depending on the ambient temperature). The minimum location for an implantation of this model is 7 m in width, 15 m in length and 5 m in height.
